Salter Property is preparing a planning application for 76 houses on land off Monmouth Street, known as Mays Field[cite: 1, 34, 383]. The Mays Action Group has been formed to represent Topsham residents in opposing this development[cite: 15]. We are working to develop robust objections to protect our conservation area and local environment[cite: 17, 25].
Our campaign is focused on the fundamental negative impacts of this proposal:
Traffic & Access: Increased congestion and unsuitable access via narrow residential streets like Monmouth Street.
Conservation Area: Damage to the character of a designated conservation area.
Environment & Wildlife: Irreversible impact on local ecology and the nearby Exe Estuary.
Flooding: Serious implications for drainage and flood risk in the area.
Community Capacity: Overwhelming pressure on local GP capacity and schools.
A dedicated Campaign Group has been formed to develop robust objections. If you have expertise or experience in these areas, please reach out to our coordinators:

The aim of sending emails to the developer is to demonstrate the strength of community opposition.
Email the Developer: Send your opposition to Salter Property at [email protected].
Keep it Simple: Your email does not need detailed technical objections at this stage—focus on your fundamental concerns.
